Inside The Headspace of An Artist
Artists, authors, writers, and film makers have this unique space to create that doesn’t truly exist in other vocations with anywhere near the same amount of flexibility. And I think the thing that differentiates an artist from a non-artist is that an artist’s goal is create something that didn’t exist before. His/her art can be influenced by other art, social issues, politics, colours, stories, personal life, an ant farm or a mole hill, or a spec in space... It doesn’t matter. It’s a place where anything, everything, and even nothing can inspire. Everyone has a creative ability in some capacity. But I think the main difference is that an artist chooses a path to develop their capacity to create by a process of learning, trying, failure, learning, trying, failure, learning trying, moderate failure, until the process moves the needle more towards acceptable, moderate success, success or whatever.
